Mini Assorted Haul: Drugstore and Forever21

Hi chickadees!

I feel like I haven't done a haul in forever. Partially it's that I'm not buying as much now and the other issue is that when I am buying things I will usually just get a handful of things and I forget to put them all together in one big haul. But anyway, these are all the items I picked up recently from CVS, Duane Reade, and Forever21. Let me know if you'd like me to do more haul posts or just stick to reviewing the items one by one once I've tried things out.

Let's start with Forever21. I have been looking at this online for some time due to my new obsession with Tiffany key necklaces but I wasn't sure if it would look as nice in person or if I'd be happy with the size. Cut to a few days ago when I went into Forever21 on a mission and happily found this necklace and fell in love with it. I definitely recommend going to the Union Square store to check it out or purchasing it online. I might even go back and pick up more as gifts. DidI mention it's only $5.80?

Another necklace I saw online and decided to pick up while at Forever21. I like slightly unconventional jewelry.

Forever 21 Jewelry Look For Less

I haven't done one of these in a while and to be honest, it's mainly because I haven't been scanning the Forever21 site a lot lately. I'd like to say my tastes have graduated, but I think it's more that I've been tremendously busy, have a decent supply of jewelry, and most of my budget goes to makeup these days. Nevertheless, I was on the site and spotted some things that might be of interest to those of you interested in trends but unwilling to pay more for trinkets that might not last past the season.

Etched bangle bracelets: More than one brand has done these, but when I think of this kind of filigree work the brand that comes to mind is Wendy Mink.

Here's the Forever21 version...

Dimpled Flower Cuff $5.80

And here is the Wendy Mink version.
Filigree Leaf Cuff $222

Pointed Punk Rings

Triple Spike Ring $2.80
http://www.forever21.com/Product/Product.aspx?br=f21&category=acc_jewelry&ProductID=1000038594

Not as cool, but probably safer than the noir jewelry version.
Flat Pyramid Stackable
Flat Pyramid Stackable $105 for a set of four http://noirjewelry.com/Rings/FlatPyramidStackable/665#

Jewelry inspired by ancient cultures/Historical jewelry: Even outside of the items you find for sale at the Met shop or any other museum store, it seems like the Victorian historical jewelry trend hasn't died. If you want to rock a faux-vintage or Victorian revival piece, why not try this Forever21 version? If you like it, you could always start hunting at flea markets and vintage shops for something a little more "authentic". And by authentic, I meant a designer's take on actual historical jewelry.

Ancient Goddess Necklace $4.80

Oh, and I don't get this "Ancient Goddess" nonsense. It is clearly Isis. Just call it an Isis necklace. If you don't believe me, google Isis necklace.

Forever21 Jewelry - Similar Look For Less

I think the premise of this post is explained in the title. I was browsing around the jewelry section of the Forever21 website...as I do...and came across some pieces that reminded me of higher end items. Let me know if you'd be interested in hearing my thoughts on similar products whether clothes, jewelry, nail polish, or makeup.

First the Oksana earrings from Dannijo. $420. Oxidized brass plated with Swarovski crystals. (Side note: brass plated? If it's going to just be plated why not gold plated or silver plated?)

Now the Beaded Earrings from Forever21. $8.80 http://www.forever21.com/Product/Product.aspx?BR=f21&Category=acc_jewelry&ProductID=1008585127&VariantID=

Are they the same? Absolutely not. Do the Forever21 pair mimic a lot of the elements of the Dannijo? Well enough to make it a worthwhile purchase, I would say.

Martine Wester Large Swarokski Crystal Necklace. $495. http://www.moondancejewelry.com/moondance/product.asp?s%5Fid=0&pf%5Fid=PAAAAAMODLJNBIHE

Sparkling Collar Necklace from Forever21. $14.80. To be honest I kind of prefer this one. http://www.forever21.com/Product/Product.aspx?BR=f21&Category=acc_jewelry&ProductID=1086807788&VariantID=

Graduating Drop Earrings from Forever21. $4.80. I can't remember what this is a dupe for but I know I've seen this exact style and color combination before. http://www.forever21.com/Product/Product.aspx?BR=f21&Category=acc_jewelry&ProductID=1087533377&VariantID

Pyramid Stud Earrings Forever21. $1.50. http://www.forever21.com/Product/Product.aspx?Br=F21&Category=ACC&ProductID=1000030606&VariantID= (same as $30 Noir jewelry earrings)
