San Francisco Haul

Hi bumblebees,

Hooray! This is my 500th published post. *obligatory balloons and streamers* (Maybe you'd like to help me celebrate by clicking on one of my amazon affiliate links. I will get a small percentage of the sale of whatever you buy through one of those links at no extra cost to you. As long as you start from one of the links on my page, this should work for anything you buy on amazon and I really do appreciate it. Now, I don't want you to just buy random things from amazon. That's not going to help either of us because you'll just waste money and I'll feel guilty. But if you're already planning on making a purchase through amazon, I hope you'll consider starting by clicking one of my links. As you were.) It's also time for my San Francisco Haul. You've already seen photos from my visits to Target and Big Lots. Now it's time to see what I actually bought.

Let's start with the only items that didn't come from Target or Big Lots. I popped into Macy's to do some shopping and of course I was distracted by the makeup section. I hovered around the new Clinique blushes. I wandered around the Urban Decay displays. Eventually I found myself in the Inglot section looking for the single pan eyeshadows I can never seem to find at the Times Square branch. And I finally found it. I found #397. But am I crazy or did Inglot freedom system shadows not cost $7 before?

A day later I went back to Macy's when I realized that nothing was going to take my Urban Decay Cannonball mascara off except M.A.C. Cleanse Off so I ran to quickly purchase a bottle of it. Oh my God, guys, when did M.A.C. Cleanse Off start costing $30? That is straight up ridiculous. It was just $24-$27 when I bought my first bottle which I still haven't used up yet. I would have brought that bottle on my trip but there's something wrong with the pump and I was afraid it would spill all over the things in my luggage. Needless to say, unless they lower the price, I will not be buying any more M.A.C. Cleanse Off after I use up these two bottles. I've heard that Muji makes a similar (much cheaper) cleansing oil so I will be looking that up and reporting back.
Now, onto Target. You know I had to pick up a pot of Vaseline Lip Therapy in Rosy Lips for soft, pink lips. I've been searching for this for months. I happen to think regular old Vaseline is about as effective as the majority of lip balms out there but of course there's the issue with ingesting it. Also, hopefully this tinted version will be a little more wearable during the day.

Seeing that big Revlon Lacquer Balm and Matte Balm display I had to make another full price purchase. I picked up the Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm in 215 Shameless. I'm a sucker for bright colors (fuchsia, red) and dark colors (black cherry, purple). I've been impressed by the pigmentation of both the Revlon Kissable Balm Stains and the Revlon Lacquer Balm in Enticing that I purchased. And who knows when I'll go to Harmon's again. I saw an unopened tube of Shameless and I grabbed it. If you love something, you don't set it free.

With the next few products, I was bitten by the clearance item bug. I picked up two Rimmel London Glam'Eyes Trio Eye Shadows. I chose palette 1 in Smokey Noir and palette 621 in Orion. These palettes are so tiny I can never justify purchasing them at full price when I'm not terribly familiar with the Rimmel London eyeshadow formula. This was a perfect excuse for me to pick up these palettes which I always eye when I'm near the Rimmel London section at CVS.

Maybelline Frozen Over
Maybelline Twilight Rays

If you've met me, you know I wasn't going to get out of Target without buying some polish. I didn't think to pull up my Pinterest board to recall the Sally Hansen Triple Shine polishes I'd been thinking of getting but some discounted Maybelline Color Show polishes did catch my eye. Maybelline polishes are already pretty cheap so it's not like the discount was that impressive but I'm a crazy person and if I see something is on sale I automatically want it that much more. I picked up  Maybelline New York's Color Show Nail Lacquer in 315 Frozen Over which I may have mainly bought because the joy vampires cannot kill my love of Frozen. But it also seems like it could be dupe for Sinful Colors Cinderella which ending up having such a disappointing formula. I also picked up Maybelline New York Color Show Nail Lacquer in 240 Twilight Rays because I have a problem. I think I remember not being that impressed with swatches of this polish but it looked nice enough in the bottle.

Now, you already know why I went all the way to that Big Lots. After that trip I had to pick up some Sephora by OPI polishes, even if I wasn't that thrilled with the color selection.
Sephora by OPI Nail Colour in Queen of Everything
It's a nice safe, silvery shimmer shade. Also it reminded me of that Sara Bareilles song, King of Anything.
Sephora by OPI Nail Colour in I Only Shop Vintage
I'm not sure how flattering this warm gold shade will be but again, metallics are a pretty safe choice.
Sephora by OPI Nail Colour in G-listen To Your Heart
It was the most colorful thing in the display so I had to pick it up, even if I don't know what I'm going to do with fuchsia glitter. Also, I used to be obsessed with that D.H.T. cover of Listen To Your Heart. Ah, the days when I used to watch those VH1 countdown shows on the weekends instead of just curating my own lists on Spotify. Life was so much simpler back then.
Sephora by OPI Nail Colour in Is She For Reel?
Are these names for real? Seriously, who comes up with the Sephora by OPI names? They're awful. Again, a dark, silver shimmer shade.
Sephora by OPI Nail Colour in Caught With My Khakis Down
This shade dominated the display. Essie Sew Psyched is actually one of my favorite shades and Da Bush is not bad either. While this shade is not that impressive in the bottle, if it looks anything like either of those shades on the nail, I expect I won't be too disappointed. Just so you know, it's not nearly this green in person.
And lastly I decided to pick up this mug to hold all my makeup brushes.

I just wanted to end this post by telling you how grateful I am for all of your support. I don't think I imagined getting to 500 posts when I started blogging. Thank you for reading. It really does mean a lot to me. -Cat
